Pipefitter

Pipefitters are responsible for the practical layout and installation of piping, fittings, valves, pumps, floats, heat exchangers, tank penetrations and misc. system equipment for our industrial finishing systems.

Requirements

• Read and understand schematics and detail drawings for layout, installation and troubleshooting
• Use common cutting tools such as the band saw, cut off saw, hand plasma torch, tubing cutter, saws-all, hole saw, drill, etc.
• Cut pipe threads with hand and electric powered pipe thread cutting tools
• Use hand tools to assemble pipe
• Safe use of powered lifts and ladders
• Proper use of pipe cement, pipe thread compound, sealing tape etc.
• Identify and correct improper operation of installed plumbing systems
• Must be able to stand for a minimum of up to 10 hours per day, with frequent kneeling, squatting, crawling or climbing ladders
• Frequent bending, twisting, reaching and grasping
• Frequently lift parts up to 50 lbs.
• Must have good eyesight with the ability to read drawings, small print, and see workpieces clearly
