Thiess is a global organization focusing on sustainable resource solutions, including mining services, land reclamation, and engineering consulting. We are seeking a Contracts Specialist to provide support in the preparation, review, and management of contracts for the Region and Project and provide guidance to internal stakeholders within our operations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience, particularly in contracts, with a strong preference within the construction or mining sectors
- Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, risk management, and compliance requirements in the construction or mining industries
- Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage conflicting interests while protecting the company’s interests
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams
- Self-starter with ability to handle complex issues in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with contract management software and document management systems
- Must be fluent in the English Language
- Valid driver's license
- Authorization to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship from Thiess
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Law AND Certified Professional in Contract Management (CPCM) or Paralegal certification or Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
