Health Safety & Environment Coordinator

Thiess is seeking a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Coordinator to provide health, safety and environmental support to the project staff, workforce, and HSE departments. The HSE Coordinator will be responsible for coordination of daily HSE functions and support activities, input into the Thiess HSE data and incident management systems, and development of accurate daily, weekly and monthly HSE reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in HSE, or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years' experience in similar role or industry
• Understanding of mining planning and execution
• Advanced knowledge and experience in the proficient use of Microsoft Office applications
• Experience in safety/health assessments/inspections during pre-stripping and mine development
• Experience in developing and implementing safety/health awareness training programs
• Familiar with Ontario Green Book OH&S Act & Regulations
• Familiar with ISOs 9001, 14001, 45001
• Familiar with NIOSH
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Authorization to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship from Thiess
• Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle
