Collection Specialist

The Collections Specialist is responsible for proactively managing and collecting overdue customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate records. This role is critical in minimizing bad debt and improving cash flow, working closely with sales, accounts payable, and other departments to resolve customer inquiries and disputes. Strong communication, time management, and negotiation skills are essential.

Requirements

• Actively pursue collection of overdue accounts through phone calls, emails, and written communication.
• Prepare and distribute customer statements and dunning notices.
• Research and resolve customer inquiries or disputes.
• Negotiate payment plans and settlements.
• Establish and maintain relationships and billings with pre-negotiated city contracts.
