The Director of Supply Chain plays a critical role in leading the strategic direction and building consistent tools and processes for the supply chain function. This strategic leadership position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the S&OP process, demand forecasting, procurement excellence, inventory optimization, and transformational systems initiatives.
Requirements
- Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies for procurement, inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and logistics.
- Establish KPIs and dashboards to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead the monthly S&OP process to ensure alignment between demand, supply, inventory, and financial goals.
- Facilitate integrated planning across sales, operations, finance, and supply teams to optimize service levels (OTIF) and working capital.
- Collaborate with commercial, operations, and finance teams to develop accurate, data-driven demand forecasts and sales projections.
- Utilize forecasting tools and data analytics to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, meet customer demand, and improve free cash flow.
- Manage procurement of metal and other direct materials. Collaborate with global metal procurement teams to optimize the procurement process.
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers and vendors. Gain visibility into supplies and inventory to ensure efficient operations.
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels while balancing service levels, carrying costs, and cash flow, and mitigating stockouts.
- Implement inventory planning techniques such as safety stock, reorder points, and replenishment strategies.
- Implement inventory visibility tools and strategies to reduce obsolescence and working capital.
- Support transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations to ensure timely and cost-effective product delivery to customers.
- Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions. Proactively manage risks related to supplier relationships, geopolitical factors, natural disasters, and other external threats.
- Evaluate, implement, and leverage technology solutions such as planning and supply chain management software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools to enhance supply chain visibility, agility, and efficiency.
- Champion digital tools, dashboards, and analytics that support data-driven decision-making.
- Utilize analytical tools and techniques to extract actionable insights from data, driving continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy, demand planning, inventory management, and resource allocation.
- Build scenario modeling and risk assessments to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies. Leverage AI technologies where applicable to enhance predictive analytics capabilities.
- Build and develop a high-performing supply chain team with clear roles, responsibilities, and career paths. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and results orientation.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the supply chain function, proactively identifying opportunities to optimize processes, enhance capabilities, and drive operational excellence.
