Archaeology Field Technician - GULF Coast

Sundance Consultants, part of True Environmental, is seeking a temporary field technician to conduct archaeological fieldwork throughout the Western United States. The role involves pedestrian surveys, data collection, artifact identification, and working in diverse terrain, often requiring long distances of hiking. This position offers a competitive hourly rate and opportunities for post-field office work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or related field
• At least 6 months of archaeological field experience or field school experience
• Experience performing archaeological survey and excavation
• Ability to work in diverse, often difficult terrain
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well with others and be a proactive part of a project team
• Excellent attention to detail and detailed note taking skills
• A valid driver's license
• Ability to operate GPS units and navigate using USGS maps/aerial photography, and compass
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must understand and comply with company safety standards
• Access to a laptop or computer
• Ability to lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 -pounds on occasion.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
