Job Description
The Medical Assistant Intern will support the Primary Care team at SouthPark, gaining experience and educational opportunities in a medical setting.
Requirements
- Escort patients to exam rooms/procedure room
- Interview patients, measure vital signs, collect patient history
- Perform screenings per provider guidelines, other physical examination preparations
- Document all information in patient’s chart
- Assist patients with walking transfers, dressing, collecting specimens
- Assemble patients’ health information, including patient symptoms and medical history
- Review forms for completion, proper identification, and signatures
- Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Obtain and send patient medical records
- Administer injections after completing training certification
- Complete online and in-person vaccination administration training
- Maintain American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS Certification
