Job Description
This Electrical Testing Field Engineer 1 position is responsible for the installation, programming, testing, and maintenance of protective relaying and metering systems in transmission and distribution operations. The role involves diagnosing issues, interpreting schematics, and coordinating repairs, ensuring reliability and safety of electrical systems. The position requires working with multidisciplinary teams and maintaining adherence to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proficiency in hand, power tools, meters, and test equipment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Understanding of electrical safety standards (ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA)
- Experience with protective relaying systems
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Power DB, and Smartsheet
- Experience with test equipment such as Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, and Fluke meters
- Understanding of insulation resistance, power factor, and high-potential testing
- Willingness to travel internationally
