Job Description
This Electrical Testing Field Engineer 2 role involves installing, programming, testing, and maintaining protective relaying and metering systems in transmission and distribution operations. The position requires a hands-on approach, including diagnostic evaluations, schematic interpretation, and coordinating repairs to ensure system reliability and safety. Experience with automated systems, testing equipment, and electrical safety standards is expected.
Requirements
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Power DB, and Smartsheet
- Valid/active U.S. Work Authorization
- Strong understanding of NETA / NICET or equivalent hands-on experience
- Strong understanding of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards
- Experience with testing equipment such as Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, and Fluke meters
- Knowledge of insulation resistance, power factor, contact resistance, and high-potential (Hi-Pot) testing procedures
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Willingness to travel
- Physical strength and stamina for various tasks
- Ability to work safely under minimal supervision
