Relay Technician 3 - Caroline County, VA

The company is seeking a Relay Technician to perform electrical tests and repairs on relays and metering equipment within a protective relaying and metering system. This role involves installing, maintaining, repairing, and programming protective relays, analyzing test results, and troubleshooting system issues. The position focuses on preventing and remediating failures in transmission and distribution infrastructure.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant electrical experience
• U.S. Work Authorization
• Proficiency in using hand, power tools, meters, and other test equipment
• Understanding of electrical safety standards (ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA)
• Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting protective relays, circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear and other electrical equipment
• Experience with test equipment (Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, Fluke)
• Knowledge of insulation resistance, power factor, contact resistance, and high-potential (Hi-Pot) testing.
• Experience with medium and high-voltage systems
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Willingness to travel
• Ability to work safely in industrial, data center, and utility environments
