National Food Safety Consultant

The National Food Safety Consultant will provide tailored upgrading support to selected Food Business Operators (primary producers, processors, cooperatives and other value chain actors) to support them conform with the requirements of the developed national food safety scheme. The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Chief Technical Advisor and the Project Manager, and will be responsible for reviewing project information, participating in training courses, conducting baseline assessments and gap analysis, developing upgrading roadmaps and action plans, mentoring and coaching FBOs, monitoring and reporting progress, and preparing a comprehensive final narrative report.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in agricultural science, agronomy, food safety, quality management, food sciences, engineering and food technology, agro-industries, or other relevant discipline.
• At least 3 years of work experience in one of the chosen value chains – i.e. rice, cassava, cocoa, coffee and fish.
• At least 3 years of work experience, specifically in the field of food safety, is desirable.
