The Associate General Counsel will be a transactional attorney who will have a strong background working with complex contracts and transactions in general and also have an area(s) of expertise such as complex commercial transactions, real estate, or technology transactions, data privacy, or information protection.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Experience in transactional law, preferably in a corporate or commercial practice.
- Ability to adapt and support new and complex legal matters in multiple legal disciplines.
- Strong communications skills to interface and effectively communicate legal advice to internal clients and senior leadership with the ability to translate legal requirements into practical business guidance and explain legal concepts in plain language.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership on key projects and provide direction to business and technical functional organizations.
- Excellent judgment, attention to detail and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to develop business-oriented strategies and evaluate findings based on legal research that can be effectively communicated to business decision-makers.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with both legal and non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of contract law and experience with contract drafting and negotiating complex agreements.
