The Post Doc Fellow, Gao Lab, College of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology, Physiology & Neurobiology position is a temporary appointment as a research trainee. The incumbent will conduct research and/or analyze research data, prepare data summaries, reports, manuscripts, and presentations of research results, and participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentation.
Requirements
- Doctoral Degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, or a closely related field, or the recognized terminal degree.
- Practical and theoretical expertise in neuroscience, neurodegeneration, disease modelling, and/or neuroinflammation.
- Practical expertise with FACS sorting and RNAseq.
- Experience with animal models (surgical skills and behavioral analysis).
- Practical expertise with gene editing using CRISPR technique.
- Significant practical experience with core techniques in cell biology (e.g. mammalian cell culture and cellular assays) and molecular biology (e.g. genetics and sequencing).
- Exceptional interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and productively, as supported by a strong track record of first-author and collaborative papers in peer-reviewed journals.
