Senior Specialist, Outreach and Mathematics/Statistics Help Centre

The Senior Specialist, Outreach and Mathematics/Statistics Help Centre is responsible for planning and overseeing the operations of the Mathematics and Statistics Help Centre, managing outreach initiatives and external partnerships, delivering presentations and lectures, teaching a maximum of two courses per year, and participating in University service through committee work.

Requirements

• PhD in Mathematics
• Teaching experience at the secondary and/or post-secondary level
• At least five years' experience in student-facing instructional roles at the post-secondary level
• Experience supervising, mentoring, or coordinating teaching assistants or instructional staff
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Experience organizing outreach activities, academic events, or educational programming
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with faculty members, students, administrative staff, school boards, and external partners
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex mathematical or statistical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
• Experience preparing instructional or pedagogical materials to support student learning
• Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment in handling student concerns, complaints, and confidential matters
