Job Description
The University of Birmingham is seeking a Principle Mechanical Services Manager to lead the team responsible for the maintenance and management of its extensive estate. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and experience in leadership, management, and customer service.
Requirements
- Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification
- Substantial work experience in a relevant technical/scientific and/or management/supervisory role
- Proven technical specialist knowledge and understanding in a relevant technical area
- Demonstrable leadership skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Significant experience in the management, planning and costing of repairs and maintenance works
- Proven track record in tendering, negotiating and managing maintenance contracts
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills
