UTEC, founded in 1999, is dedicated to transforming the lives of disengaged young adults aged 17-25 through intensive case management, street outreach, education, social enterprises, and gang intervention. By providing paid work experience, alternative education, and civic engagement opportunities, UTEC aims to reduce criminal involvement, enhance employability, and increase educational attainment, achieving a recidivism rate of less than 20% compared to the statewide average above 50%. UTEC's evidence-based approach and focus on holistic development make it a distinctive leader in youth empowerment.
UTEC's Mental Health Clinicians are responsible for providing counseling services to young adults in UTEC's program. The Clinician will work as an integral part of our Mental Health team and provide on-site services to incarcerated young adults at correctional facilities. The Clinician will support intake and screening processes and will assist with external referrals for more intensive behavioral health or substance abuse services when appropriate.
