The Moving & Event Set-up Technician is responsible for moving/transporting items across campus, setting up and breaking down special events, and operating various material handling devices and equipment. The position involves physical effort, including lifting, bending, and carrying items. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, one year of previous experience, and a valid driver's license.
Requirements
- Move and transport furniture, boxes, and equipment across campus
- Set up and break down special event furniture and equipment
- Operate various material handling devices and equipment
- Drive vehicles such as box trucks and pick-up trucks
- Follow written and verbal directions
- Use basic hand tools to dismantle and/or assemble simple furniture and equipment
- Properly load and unload trucks and trailers
- Assist other trades when necessary
- Perform regular physical effort, including lifting, bending, and carrying items
