The Moving & Event Set-up Technician is a key individual contributor responsible for moving/transporting items across campus and setting up and breaking down special events.
Requirements
- Move and transport furniture, boxes, hard and soft material, and various types and pieces of equipment in a manner consistent with material handling safety guidelines
- Set up and breakdown special event furniture and equipment such as tables, chairs, tents, staging tables, stanchions, and various other items necessary to support the event
- Operate and use various material handling devices and equipment such as forklifts, tractors, pallet jacks, tow motors, furniture dollies, and four wheel dollies as necessary to accomplish the task at hand
- Drive vehicles such as box trucks and pick-up trucks in a safe and effective manner and may be required to pull trailers and tow equipment
- Assist other trades when the circumstances demand in a manner contiguous with their skill level
