Job Description
The Sergeant - VUPS position at Vanderbilt University Public Safety involves supervising police, master police, and security officers in routine patrol, community policing, and special event activities. The role requires a high school education or G.E.D, a valid driver's license, and P.O.S.T. certification in Tennessee. Three years of experience with an accredited law enforcement agency is required, with one year of experience as a Corporal at VUPD preferred.
Requirements
- High School Education or G.E.D
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- Graduate of an accredited, approved Police Academy
- Certified police officer meeting all of the requirements for P.O.S.T. certification in Tennessee or be eligible for certification immediately upon hire
- Meet standards to receive a commission from the Metropolitan Police Department
