Job Description
Vast is seeking a Tooling Manufacturing Engineer to contribute to building tools for their artificial gravity space station, Haven-1. This role involves engineering fixture fabrication, vendor management, test fixture development, and ensuring consistent tool performance for critical assembly processes. The company aims to replace the International Space Station, focusing on building artificial gravity, human-rated space stations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline
- 2+ years of experience in aerospace or automotive tooling
- 2+ years of experience with NX or other 3D CAD software
- Proficiency in GD&T
- Experience working with work orders and assembly instructions
- Strong ability to build trust and work with complex assemblies
- Demonstrated bias for action and ownership
- Knowledge of project planning practices
- Significant configuration management experience
