Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada is seeking a Specialist in Orientation & Mobility to provide training and support to individuals with vision loss, empowering them to achieve greater independence and navigate their environment. The role involves assessing needs, developing personalized service plans, providing practical skills, and connecting individuals with relevant resources. It's a human-centered role focused on client empowerment and collaboration with various healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Conduct assessments and documents O&M needs and goals.
- Develop and implement orientation & mobility services plans.
- Teach concepts, pre-cane skills, and travel skills.
- Provide tactile maps and guide dog school education.
- Maintain case documentation and perform administrative duties.
- Adhere to professional documentation and reporting standards.
- Problem-solve and respond to individual client needs.
