Job Description
The VITAS Home Health Aide (HHA) provides personal care services to hospice patients, augmenting care by working with family members or caregivers. Assignments can include tasks such as home health care, meal preparation, ambulation assistance, and medication administration. The role requires adherence to a written plan of care and documentation of patient needs. The VITAS Home Health Aide will report directly to the Nurse and receive clinical direction.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred
- 75 hours of training documented as specified in 42 C.F.R. Sections 484.36 (a)(1) and 484.36(b)
- State Allowable Training/Certification (AL, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, IN, MI, PA, TX, VA, WI, CA, CHHA, CT)
