Job Description
VITAS Home Health Aides (HHA) are non-exempt employees providing personal care to hospice patients. Their responsibilities include bathing, meal preparation, ambulation, and assisting with treatments ordered by physicians, as well as providing emotional support. The HHA role is a first-line position within the VITAS team, focused on direct patient care and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred
- Meets personnel qualifications of a Home Health Aide as specified in 42 C.F.R. Section 484.4 and Section 484.36
- Documented evidence of 75 hours of training
- Documented evidence of successful Competency Evaluation program
- State Allowable Training/Certification
