Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

The licensed practical nurse (LPN) is responsible for administering nursing care according to the plan of care for terminally ill patients at VITAS, the nation’s leading provider of end-of-life care. This involves providing direct bedside nursing care, evaluating patient needs, monitoring patient reactions, and documenting findings in clinical notes. The role requires collaboration with a registered nurse and interdisciplinary team, and contributes to patient and family education and supports a therapeutic relationship.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of Practical/Vocational nursing.
• Currently licensed to practice nursing in the state where the VITAS program is located.
• At least one year of satisfactory nursing experience, at least one year of which is an LPN/LVN in a hospital setting.
• Must have and maintain transportation to be used for work with required liability insurance and license.
• Equal authorization to work in the United States and for VITAS.
