Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

The licensed practical nurse (LPN/LVN) provides direct skilled bedside nursing care to terminally ill patients admitted to the VITAS program, following the Nurse Practice Act. Responsibilities include administering treatments and medications, assessing patient needs, maintaining a safe environment, and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members. The role focuses on improving patient quality of life and ensuring responsible end-of-life care.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of Practical/Vocational nursing
• Currently licensed to practice nursing in the state where the VITAS program is located
• At least one year of satisfactory nursing experience, at least one year of which is an LPN/LVN in a hospital on an adult medical surgical unit
• Valid driver's license (with liability insurance)
