Social Worker (SW)

VITAS Healthcare is seeking a Social Worker (SW) to provide emotional and logistical support to patients and their loved ones during a sensitive and vulnerable time. The SW will ensure patients reach the end of life with their affairs, trust patients to navigate grief, and connect them with resources like financial advisors and funeral homes. The role involves providing care, listening to patient stories, and advocating for their needs, ultimately extending comfort and dignity.

Requirements

• Ability to travel.
• Thorough knowledge of community resources (desirable).
• Knowledge of psychosocial issues in terminally ill patients (desirable).
• Strong listening and communication skills.
• Ability to advocate for patients and families.
• Master's degree in Social Work required
• At least one year of social work experience in a health care setting.
