Housing Specialist

Volunteers of America–Greater New York is seeking a Housing Specialist to implement trainings and develop permanent housing options for low-income and homeless populations. The role involves conducting housing eligibility assessments, developing linkages with real estate companies, and facilitating client workshops.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or 60 college credits with two years of related experience in housing placement services for low-income and/or homeless population, or satisfactory combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of federal guidelines for public and private low-income housing required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Clean and valid driver’s license. Must maintain agency authorized driver’s status.
