Residential Counselor

Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050. We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey and Westchester County, including emergency, transitional and permanent housing. The Residential Counselor is responsible to deliver wellness and recovery-oriented case management and support services to service recipients in accordance with the New Jersey Department of Human Services-Division of Mental Health and Addictions Services regulations.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health, health or other appropriate human services related discipline
• A license as a registered nurse
• A combination of one or more years of college, plus related work or life experience together equaling four years
• At least one year of related work or life experience if the four-year college degree does not meet the requirements above
• A valid state driver’s license with a safe driving record
