Staff Accountant - Treasury

Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050. The Staff Accountant—Treasury is a key member of the finance team supporting the organization’s cash management functions, including executing banking transfers, maintaining authorization and support for cash activity, monitoring cash position to meet operational needs, and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard agency assets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with one year of relevant experience
• Knowledge of cash management is required
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize work and perform duties with a high level of accuracy
• Collaborative work style and excellent interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite with strong Excel skills
