Senior / Staff Software Engineer, Localization

Waabi, a leader in Physical AI, is seeking a Senior or Staff Software Engineer to join the Localization team. The team is responsible for creating highly precise state estimation systems for autonomous vehicles. The ideal candidate will have deep domain expertise in state estimation and experience with sensor fusion, Kalman filters, and probabilistic robotics.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Aerospace/Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Deep, rigorous domain expertise in probabilistic robotics, state estimation, and 3D geometry
• Proven experience building and optimizing online and/or offline Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) systems
• Extensive hands-on experience processing and fusing data from physical sensors
• Exceptional systems-level programming skills in modern C++ and/or Rust
• Strong mathematical foundation in linear algebra, calculus, and probability theory
• A proven track record of deploying complex state estimation algorithms onto physical robots or autonomous vehicles
