Job Description
We are seeking a temporary construction inspector to work on construction and maintenance projects in Anne Arundel and Cecil County. Inspectors will perform field inspections, conduct tests, and document project progress. The position requires travel and availability to work night shifts.
Requirements
- Perform field inspections of construction and maintenance projects
- Conduct and/or observe and document tests on soils, asphalt, concrete, aggregates, bituminous products, metal products, and industrial coatings
- Respond to District's Office data requests
- Participate in traffic control activities
- Obtain MARTCP certifications in Concrete, Soils & Aggregates, HMA, and Pavement Markings
- Obtain NICET certification in Highway Inspection
- Fill out the Inspector's Daily Report (IDR)
- Maintain daily progress photos of the work
- Fill out Force Account records
- Maintain a Sketchbook
- Participate in the reconciliation of pay quantities on progress payments submitted by the Contractor
- Attend all meetings as needed
- Participate in change order negotiations
- Participate in CPM schedule meetings
