Service Engineer - 4‑Stroke

Wärtsilä is seeking a dynamic Field Service Engineer – 4‐Stroke to join their Mechanical Field Services Resources team. The engineer will manage complex field service activities related to Wärtsilä 4‐stroke engines and associated systems, working primarily in the field and remotely.

Requirements

• Technical high school diploma in mechanics and/or Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Proven ability to overhaul engine components on site or on board
• Previous experience with planned maintenance and repair of Wärtsilä OEM engines and auxiliaries
• Solid experience in engine troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and component investigations
• Strong problem‐solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and internal teams
• High motivation to learn, develop, and grow professionally
• Team‐oriented mindset with a collaborative approach
• Ability to perform effectively in dynamic and changing environments
• Good knowledge of English and Italian
• Willingness and motivation to travel extensively (minimum 80% of the year), including international assignments
