Service Engineer - 4‑Stroke

Wärtsilä is seeking a Service Engineer - 4-Stroke to manage complex field service activities related to Wärtsilä 4-stroke engines and associated systems. The role involves executing planned maintenance and repair activities, performing overhauls, and carrying out advanced engine troubleshooting. The position requires a technical high school diploma in mechanics and/or a Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with proven experience in engine troubleshooting and repair. The preferred location is Genova, Italy, with remote working possible when not on assignment.

Requirements

• Technical high school diploma in mechanics and/or Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Proven ability to overhaul engine components on site or on board
• Previous experience with planned maintenance and repair of Wärtsilä OEM engines and auxiliaries
• Solid experience in engine troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and component investigations
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and internal teams
• High motivation to learn, develop, and grow professionally
• Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach
• Ability to perform effectively in dynamic and changing environments
• Good knowledge of English and Italian
• Willingness and motivation to travel extensively (minimum 80% of the year)
