Field Safety Engineer, Japan / フィールド・セーフティ・エンジニア（日本）

The Waymo Safety team works to promote and help to continuously improve the safety of Waymo's fully autonomous driving technology. As Waymo's first Field Safety Engineer in Japan, you will serve as Waymo's primary engineering/technical liaison with safety regulators in Japan, working closely with Waymo's Policy, Legal, and other teams in Japan.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical degree
• 10+ years of engineering or other technical experience in automotive or another transportation field
• Experience with Japan's automotive and/or transportation regulatory framework and familiarity with expectations when working with these regulators
• Strong communication and presentation skills in Japanese and the ability to establish and maintain professional presence with regulators in Japan
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with Policy, Legal, Operations, Engineering and other internal teams in Japan and in the United States
