The Medical Assistant provides patient care in the health center setting and assists the provider(s) and care teams in the management and coordination of patient care, with an emphasis on prevention and health maintenance.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant training/certification preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
- Current CPR or CPR/AED certification (must be completed within 90 days of hire)
- Excellent customer service experience
- Knowledge of patient care, addiction treatment and mental health disorders
- Knowledge of Community resources including Medicare, Medi-Cal, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and the county's General Assistance Program
- Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional relationships
- Maintain detailed records
- Computer (PC) literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook email and database software
- Commitment to HIPAA and ability to abide by standards of professional ethics and maintain confidentiality
- Adherence to infection control procedures
