Job Description
The ER Clerk coordinates the activities of the nursing staff, patient, physician, and other hospital departments through communication and supply management, performing general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate the efficient functioning of the emergency department nursing unit.
Requirements
- Answers signal lights, bells, or intercom system to determine patients' needs
- Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output
- Cleans, sterilizes, stores, prepares, and issues dressing packs, treatment trays, and other supplies
- Dusts and cleans emergency patients' rooms
