Patient Transport Assistant

The incumbent is responsible for the safe transportation of patients and other patient related items within the Health Sciences Centre. The position requires good communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize requests. The successful candidate will also need to complete on-the-job training for Cushman Cart and lifting and transferring of patients.

Requirements

• High school education, Manitoba standards
• Basic computer skills
• Good interpersonal and English communication skills
• Good organizational skills
• Problem-solving skills and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting requests
• Ability to walk 11-15 kms per shift
• Ability to lift, turn, and transfer patients (some in excess of 270 kgs)
• Ability to work in stressful situations
• Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check
