Surgical Pathology Assistant - Repost

The Surgical Pathology Assistant will be responsible for the reception, gross description and dissection of surgical tissue specimens as well as selecting and preparing tissue specimens for processing in preparation for microscopic diagnosis. The incumbent will maintain a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines and ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and maintain standards put forth by Accreditation.

Requirements

• Relevant experience of two years required
• Graduate from a recognized Pathology Assistant Program preferred
• Bachelor of Science degree including courses in Human Anatomy and Physiology from a recognized university; Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) specializing in Histology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
