The job is for a Lead Administrator L1, responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the tower, leading the architectural design of a platform/middleware/database/back up, and managing team members. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience with Cisco Routing and Switching, and knowledge of SD-WAN solutions. The job is based in Hyderabad, India.
Requirements
- Act as L3/SME escalation for complex LAN/WAN issues across DC, and branch networks
- Design validation, optimization, and troubleshooting of: Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP; Switching technologies: VLANs, STP (RSTP/MST/PVST), EtherChannel; High availability: HSRP / VRRP / GLBP
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or high-impact incidents
- Lead network performance tuning, convergence optimization, and resiliency improvements
- Review and approve network changes as part of CAB / Change Management
- Define and enforce network standards, best practices, and SOPs
- Support capacity planning, lifecycle management, and upgrade strategies
- Coordinate with OEMs / ISPs / cloud providers for escalations and defect resolution
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to L1/L2 engineers
- Contribute to network documentation, HLD/LLD validation, and audit readiness
- Participate in major incident management (MIM) and post-incident reviews
- Forecast talent requirements as per the current and future business needs
- Hire adequate and right resources for the team
- Train direct reportees to make right recruitment and selection decisions
- Ensure 100% compliance to Wiproās standards of adequate onboarding and training for team members to enhance capability & effectiveness
- Build an internal talent pool of HiPos and ensure their career progression within the organization
- Promote diversity in leadership positions
- Set goals for direct reportees, conduct timely performance reviews and appraisals, and give constructive feedback to direct reports
- Ensure that organizational programs like Performance Nxt are well understood and that the team is taking the opportunities presented by such programs to their and their levels below
- Lead and drive engagement initiatives for the team
- Track team satisfaction scores and identify initiatives to build engagement within the team
- Proactively challenge the team with larger and enriching projects/initiatives for the organization or team
- Exercise employee recognition and appreciation
