About the Company
The College is seeking to fill a part-time tutor position eligible to work up to 19 hours per week based on department need during the academic term only.
Job Description
The tutor provides academic assistance to individual students or small groups, helping them become successful, independent learners. Responsibilities include tutoring in math subjects, preparing teaching materials, and maintaining a positive attitude.
Requirements
- Tutor students in Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Quantitative Reasoning, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics
- Prepare teaching materials suited to students' abilities, goals, and interests
- Discuss student progress with staff
- Maintain a positive, warm attitude that encourages students to learn
- Perform basic administrative duties to support daily operations of the tutoring program
Benefits
- Gross hourly paid position with a range of $15.00 to $17.00
- Part-time positions are temporary, time-limited appointments
