Assistant Vice President, Structural Engineer

WSP is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Structural Engineer to join the structural engineering practice within their Architectural Engineering (A/E) business. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and mentorship skills, excellent communication skills, and well-rounded technical structural engineering experience.

Requirements

• Communicate with clients to understand project requirements
• Lead a team of engineers and designers on structural engineering and design activities
• Analyze new and existing structures per required code
• Develop calculation packages as required
• Perform existing structures assessment to evaluate their capacity and ability to resist new loading requirements
• Develop structural models to solve engineering problems
• Coach and mentor Junior Engineers and Designers
• Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
• Adhere to project delivery standards
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making
