Principal Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead our Ground Engineering & Materials practice in Northern BC and the Yukon, based in Whitehorse, YT. As a high-impact leadership role, you will shape our northern geotechnical strategy, guide major infrastructure programs, and elevate technical excellence across the region.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering, plus registration as a P.Eng. in Canada (or eligibility with Engineers Yukon)
• 15+ years of progressive geotechnical consulting experience
• Recognized expertise in advanced geotechnical analysis, subsurface evaluation, and construction considerations
• Ability to influence technical direction, guide teams, and support strategic decision-making
• Proficiency with geotechnical platforms such as GeoStudio, Rocscience, or equivalent tools
• Initiative, creativity, and a solutions-oriented mindset aligned with WSP's culture of innovation
