Principal Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to strengthen our Ground Engineering & Materials practice across Northern BC and the Yukon, based in our Prince George, BC office. The role will involve leading complex geotechnical investigations, advanced analyses, design reviews, and construction-phase services, and shaping methodologies, standards, and innovation within WSP’s northern geotechnical practice.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering, plus registration as a P.Eng. in Canada (or eligibility with EGBC)
• 15+ years of progressive geotechnical consulting experience, including northern, transportation, infrastructure, municipal, or resource-sector projects
• Recognized expertise in advanced geotechnical analysis, subsurface evaluation, and construction considerations
• Ability to influence technical direction, guide teams, and support strategic decision-making
• Proficiency with geotechnical platforms such as GeoStudio, Rocscience, or equivalent tools
• Initiative, creativity, and a solutions-oriented mindset aligned with WSP’s culture of innovation
