As a Resident Engineer - Civil, lead and manage all aspects of overhead transmission line projects from initiation to closeout, ensuring adherence to project objectives, schedules, and budgets. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Requirements
- Act as the primary technical leader on-site for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) civil works, supervising contractors, and managing daily OHL construction activities.
- Inspect and approve civil works (earthworks, tower foundations, access roads, drainage) to ensure compliance with approved drawings, Method Statements, and ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans).
- Review and approve civil drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and geotechnical reports.
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards and UAE/TAQA safety regulations, promoting a safety-first culture.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, MEP), attend progress meetings, and submit daily/weekly progress reports.
- Coordinate Permits/NOCs (No Objection Certificates) required for site activities and maintain comprehensive site documentation, including RFIs (Request for Information) and NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports)
- Coordinate with Contractor’s suppliers, and vendors to procure materials, equipment, and services necessary for project implementation.
- Conduct regular site inspections, conduct HSE auditing the work and reporting, quality assurance checks to monitor progress, identify issues, and resolve construction-related challenges in a timely manner, conduct regular progress review meeting, project scope review and verify all the as-built documents.
- Verification and certification of materials and work measurements and complete the project closeout process.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project team members, supporting the Principal Resident Engineer or Project Manager, Contractor and clients, addressing technical inquiries, resolving disputes, and mitigating project risks.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and safety protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
- Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and excellence among project team members, promoting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Maintain complete project records, including technical documentation, test reports, and as-built drawings, ensuring proper handover upon project completion.
