WSP is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance and guidance for due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, and environmental permitting projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related engineering discipline
- 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in environmental engineering
- Knowledge of environmental engineering principles, practices, and methods and their application to environmental and project work-related issues
- Knowledge with the concepts of reducing and eliminating the use or generation of hazardous substances, processes, or product, and mitigation programs
- Knowledge of the techniques used in identifying, measuring, sampling, and studying environmental control
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal permitting agencies and environmental protection regulations
- Demonstrated experience contributing to technical reports, environmental permit applications, including field surveys and reporting, and resource and impact evaluations
- Project management experience with tracking hours and expenses for project work and adhering to project schedules
- Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC
- Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience
- Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, and comply with company policies
- Proficiency with technical writing, office automation and communication software, technology, math principals, predictive models, and tools
- Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to reach conclusions from testing results and data collection, and identify the most effective solutions to accomplish objectives of assigned projects
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
