Job Description
YAI is seeking a qualified Assistant Supervisor to support our locations in Queens. Assistant Supervisors serve as lead members of the direct care team, providing similar day-to-day functions as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) but with administrative responsibilities including training, scheduling, systems management, and in some cases, directly supervising other DSPs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, Some college preferred
- Prior DSP experience strongly preferred, but not mandatory
- Ability to lead by example and act as a role model within teams
- Interpersonal problem-solving skills
- Ability to accept and apply feedback
- Flexibility in availability
- Background in supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or mental health preferred
- Well-developed writing skills
- Valid Driver's License preferred depending on location
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn/use Workforce Management software to effectively carry out essential business processes
