As a Direct Support Professional - DSP 1, you will assist individuals in maximizing their strengths, interests, and abilities, and provide emotional support and build positive relationships. You will also be responsible for the overall supervision, protection, and care of individuals, and ensure their health, wellness, and safety.
Requirements
- Ability to meet essential physical demands of position
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Enthusiasm for working with people with I/DD
- Ability and willingness to assist with a variety of supports and ADLs as requested
- Basic computer skills
- Must hold or obtain and maintain Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention – Revised (SCIP-R) within one (1) year of appointment
- Must hold or obtain and maintain additional certifications as required by program assignment and persons supported
