Direct Support Professional- DSP 1 assists individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in maximizing their strengths, interests, and abilities, upholding their personal rights, and providing emotional support and building positive relationships.

Requirements

• Assist individuals in daily living activities
• Provide emotional support and build positive relationships
• Support individuals in meeting personal goals
• Supervise and care for individuals at all times
• Ensure health, wellness, and safety of individuals
• Implement person-centered, individualized plans
• Teach and develop skills
• Support advocacy and communication
• Facilitate ethical decision making
• Transport and escort individuals
• Collect and record data on individual behavior
