Teacher Assistant

Teacher Assistant role supporting students in assigned classroom, providing general and instructional support, observing behavior, and implementing positive behavior interventions.

Requirements

• Current certification and registration as a Teacher Assistant issued by the New York State Education Department
• Satisfactory proof of a passing score on NYSTCE Assessment of Teaching Assistant Skills (ATAS) examination and proof of successful completion of all required workshops
• Ability to remain calm and think clearly in stressful situations
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work with children with disabilities and demonstrate positivity, patience, empathy, and compassion
