YES Prep is seeking a Special Education Self-Contained Teacher for their Airline Elementary campus. The ideal candidate will have experience with Life Skills programming, a valid Texas Educator Special Education Certification, and a commitment to the YES Prep mission. The role will involve developing and executing the vision for Alternate Instruction, managing YSTEP units, and supporting Life Skills teachers in achieving student achievement results.
Requirements
- Experience with Life Skills programming or similar settings
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- At least 3 years of exemplary Special Education teaching experience
- Outstanding record of student achievement results
- Hold a valid Texas Educator Special Education Certification
- Hold a valid Texas Educator Certification in Core Content
- Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools
- Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback
- Demonstrated ability to work on a team
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and initiatives at once
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
